Zac Efron Biography

Zachary David Alexander Efron was born on 18th October 1987 in California at San Luis Obispo. He is the elder son to Starla Baskett who is a former company secretary and David Efron, an electrical Engineer. Zac has a younger brother called Dylan.

Zac Efron was brought up in Arroyo Grande CA.  When he was eleven years old, Zac took his first step towards acting with the support of his parents who had already noticed his singing ability. From then, Zac could attend singing and acting lessons, which later led to his appearance in a “Gypsy” production that ran about 90 performances, and from there, he was hooked. His role in Gypsy production ignited his passion as a young actor, and his good performance in other local production made him get a contract with a talent agent. Soon, Zac had some regular trips to Los Angeles for audition while at the same time; he was a student at Arroyo Grande High School.

In 2002, Zac made his first television appearance on “Firefly”, a short-lived series. He landed a guest role on ER in the year 2003. In the same year, he played the role of The Pilot for “The Big Wide World of Carl Laemke.

In the following year, Zac Efron could be seen in other films such as “The Guardian”, “Triple Play” and “Miracle Run” which is a made for television movie.

In 2005, Zac played another lead role in “High school Musical”. While on the set of this low-budget film for the Disney channel, Efron met his co-star Vanessa Hudgens and from there, the two began dating.

Remarkably, apart from High School Musical 2 Efron also appeared on some big screens such as John Waters’ Hairspray (1988). This was in the year 2007.
