Breakout role in Superbad 2007 of Emma Stone
Emma’s first main role was in the film In Search of the New Partridge Family, 2004. While registering, the name Emily Stone had already been taken. She then chose to use Riley Stone as her stage name but dropped it for Emma Stone. Among the things the contestants were being judged upon included acting, singing and resemblance to the original Laurie. Emily Stone (her name then) won the competition after singing We Belong by Pat Benatar. Although this show never made it past the pilot, it marked Emma’s starting point in professional acting.
Emma’s breakthrough film was Superbad in 2007. This was a teen comedy that featured co-stars Michael Cera and Jonah Hill. It was written and produced by Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen. It was hugely successful and got strong critical response. A year later, she got roles in the comedy The Rocker and later on The House Bunny. Over the next years, Stone has become a regular Hollywood face with big films such as Paper Man, Zombieland and Ghost of Girlfriends Past.
