Imagine a friend whom you have known for decades. Perhaps you two lived in the same neighborhood, grew up together, maybe you studied in the same school and went to the same college too. There are examples of such lifelong friends, even if they are not very common these days. When you have a friend with whom you have shared most of your life till now, you don't need any special attribute in that person.
