New Start Date for USBC Open and Women’s Championships: May 23

ARLINGTON, Texas – The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) has moved the tentative start date for the 2020 USBC Open and Women’s Championships to May 23, 2020, and will extend the tournaments several more weeks to allow teams rescheduling flexibility.

Intercollegiate Singles and Team Sectionals Postponed Indefinitely

ARLINGTON, Texas – The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) is postponing the Intercollegiate Singles and Team Sectionals scheduled for March 13-15. Competition at all locations is postponed indefinitely.

USBC made this decision after reviewing the actions of universities and national governing bodies to postpone or cancel collegiate events due to COVID-19 safety

Jesper Svensson Earns Top Seed for PBA Indianapolis Open TV Finals

Brunswick Acquires Ebonite International

Brunswick Bowling Products announced today that it has acquired the assets of Ebonite International, including all of Ebonite’s brands, trademarks and technologies.

According to a report in Kentucky New Era, Ebonite’s bowling ball manufacturing plant closed its doors today, and approximately 170 people will lose their jobs.

Former AMF Inc. Owner Irwin Jacobs, Wife Alexandra Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Irwin Jacobs got cover billing in the May 1986 issue of Bowlers Journal International as a "Wall Street Whiz."
Irwin Jacobs, who acquired AMF Inc. in 1985 in a “hostile takeover,” has died along with his wife, Alexandra, in what is being described a murder-suicide. Both were 77.
