Breakout role in The Last Song 2010 of Liam Hemsworth
Liam’s breakout role came in 2010 through the film The Last Song that he co-starred with Miley Cyrus. This film was based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel that goes by the same name. Liam played the character of Will Blakelee. This is a Southern volleyball player, mechanic and community volunteer who falls in love with Ronnie Miller. The character with whom he falls in love is Miley Cyrus, a singer and actress. In real life, the two announced their engagement plan in 2012 but called it off in 2013.
After the success of The Last Song, Liam continued to progress his career further in 2011 through the film The Hunger Games. In this thriller movie where you either kill or get killed, Hemsworth played the character of District 12 hunter Gale Hawthorne. The film is based on a top-selling novel by the same name and written by Suzanne Collins. The 2012 film was a major hit as it made more than $690 million.
