The inaugural “MTV Movie & TV Awards” wrapped Sunday night and the most surprising TV hit of 2016 took home the top prize.
Stranger Things” — the 1980s nostalgia fest from Netflix — won “Show of the Year,” while Disney’s “Beauty of the Beast” took “Movie of the Year.
Both were also big winners in the acting categories, with Emma Watson and Millie Bobby Brown taking home the “Best Actor” awards for their respective mediums.
