Watson’s debut to screen performance was marked by her significant role in the film “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.” Within the opening day sales and the weekend takings, the film had already broke and set new records. Critics were full of praise words for the three leads and from time to time sang out Watson’s name. The IGN said that Emma Watson “stole the show” while The Daily Telegraph said that she depicted an “admirable” performance.

It was due to this film that Watson got nominated in five categories and eventually won the Young Artist Award.

The following years saw her take many other roles in the Harry Potter series. In 2004, she was once again a lead character in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. She also starred in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, in 2011 that ran for 8 series.
