How did she make her breakthrough in Hollywood?

Angie's career prospects as an actress began improving when she won a Golden Globe Award for her role in TNT's 'George Wallace' back in 1997 but her actual breakthrough would come a year later. She was given the lead role in 'Gia', a HBO's production. This film was based on the true story of a supermodel called Gia. Gia was a wild-child who was brazen and needy. She had a difficult time dealing with deaths of people close to her. She winded up doing drugs and unfortunately got infected with aids at the age of 26. She was one of the famous celebrities who died of AIDS. Angie nailed the role and was awarded yet another Golden Globe for her effort. Anything else, you'd like to know about Angelina Jolie?
